$9,060 Donated to Date to 1% for the Planet Environmental Partners!

Geek Girl Tech has been certified as a 1% for the Planet member for three years now with over $9,060 in donations. These donations benefit environmental partners certified through 1%.

This past year was our best year yet and we supported 7 organizations with both in-kind and monetary donations. Check out some of the organizations we chose to partner with.

In Kind Work

Climate Neutral

Mission: Eliminate greenhouse gas emissions by creating the world’s most recognized and trusted climate label, paired with accessible, action-focused tools and resources.

Pollinator Posse
Mission: The Pollinator Posse creates and encourages pollinator-friendly landscaping and fosters appreciation of local ecosystems through outreach, education, community science and habitat creation. With eco-friendly landscape techniques at the heart of our work, we teach respect for the creatures which keep Northern California — and the world — blooming.

Monetary Donations

Geek Girl Tech needed to donate a certain amount of money to meet our certification goals for 2022 – we split the amount upon our full and part-time staff, allowing each person to choose an organization or two to donate to.

The Hunger Project
Mission: Our mission is to facilitate individual and collective action to transform the systems of inequity that create hunger and cause it to persist.

The Venture Out Project
To provide a safe and fun space for queer, trans, and LGBTQ+ people to experience the outdoors.

Community Food and Agriculture Coalition
At the Community Food & Agriculture Coalition (CFAC), our mission is to grow a healthy local food community by preserving farmland, teaching new farmers, and making food accessible for all.
